Colonel Lysenko: Ukrainian Armed Forces incur no casualties yesterday
September 28, 2016.

Militants fire 15 mortar shells at Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk sector. The number of hostile provocations was record high in the Mariupol sector. Meanwhile, Russia continues supplying fuel to militants.

Kyiv, September 28 2016. “Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no casualties in the past 24 hours,” informed Colonel Andriy Lysenko, spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on ATO related issues at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In the Luhansk sector Russia-backed militants opened fire only once during the day near Novozvanivka. The other provocations took place in the ‘traditional’ areas – near Novooleksandrivka and Stanytsia Luhanska, where attacks took place late at night. “Militants are likely trying to hide their hostile activities from international monitors of OSCE SMM who are tightly observing adherence to the agreements on the forces disengagement in Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrovske,” said the spokesman.

Avdiivka was the only flashpoint in the Donetsk sector. Russian proxies were shooting from small weapons and engaged mortar launchers at night, firing 15 mortar shells at Ukrainian troops’ positions. “Absolute armistice held in all the other areas in the Donetsk sector,” said Col. Lysenko.

There were more provocations in the Mariupol sector than in the Donetsk and Luhansk sectors together. In total, militants violated the armistice 23 times in the area from Mariinka to Shyrokyne, including Talakivka, Pavlopil and Vodiane. Militants mostly used light weapons, shooting from armored personnel carrier twice near Talakivka. Sniping militants’ attacks was registered near Shyrokyne.

According to the military intelligence, another batch of reinforcement arrived for militants from Russia. Six fuel tanks with diesel came to Kuteinykove settlement in Donetsk region, and insurgents’ fuel store was replenished with 350 tons of fuel. A subdivision of the Security and Convoy
Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation arrived at Donetsk. “Its main goal is sending home 25 Russian troops of the command personnel and technical experts who refused to participate in combat in the east of Ukraine. Their responsibility is checking each serviceman for the evidence of participation in combat in order to hide them from the global community later,” said Col. Lysenko.
