Colonel Motuzyanyk: No Ukrainian servicemen killed or wounded over last 24 hours

No Ukrainian servicemen were killed nor wounded over the last 24 hours. This was stated by Col. Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine spokesperson on ATO related issues, at a press briefing held at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In Luhansk sector, the main hotspot is Novozvanivka. During hours of darkness, around 7-8 p.m., militants fired at the Ukrainian positions with heavy artillery. Shelling from 152-mm artillery cannons and 82-mm mortars continued to 9.30 p.m. with an hour break. Artillery bombardment was also recorded close to the village of Troitske in Popasna district. “A turbulent situation was observed in the vicinity of NovooleksandrivkaKondrashivka Nova and Lopaskine where the adversary fired from small arms,” added Col. Motuzyanyk. Overall, militants fired 39 artillery rounds and 4 mines in Luhansk sector

In Donetsk sectormilitants widely used 82- and 120-mm mortars near AvdiivkaVerkhnotoretskeTroitske and Luhanske. “Overall, militants fired 167 mortar rounds from heavy weapons which is forbidden by the Minsk agreements,” stressed the spokesperson. Close to Luhanskemilitants fired from infantry fighting vehicle. Another provocation was recorded in Zaitseve.  

In Mariupol sectorprovocations by Russian occupation forces cover the largest territoryHeavy weapons – artillery and mortars – were used mainly in the dark time and more intensely than in other areas. “In particular, the adversary fired at Ukrainian positionnear Krasnohorivka, PavlopolTaramchuk and Shyrokyne using IFV. In Maryinka, a local resident was wounded as a result of shelling,” noted Col. Motuzyanyk. Overall, they fired 12 artillery rounds and 137 mines. In addition, militants used small arms and grenade launchers in all these places and near Vodiane and Lebedinske.
