Ministry of Defense: Hostilities continue despite the recent de-escalation
Kyiv, September 07, 2017.

In Mariupol sector, the situation was restless in Pavlopil-Shyrokyne frontline. “Despite significant de-escalation, the enemy target each Ukrainian frontline position and regularly engage them with aimed fire. The enemy attacked seven times in Lebedynske only. Moreover, the situation was restless in Hnutove, Vodiane, and other positions,” reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. In total, 19 hostile attacks were recorded in Mariupol sector yesterday.

In Donetsk sector, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire in four flashpoints: Zaitseve, Avdiivka, Shakhta Butovka position, and Pisky. The attacks took place mostly during the hours of darkness.  The longest attack of 30 minutes was recorded in Avdiivka. In total, militants violated the ceasefire 13 times in Donetsk sector yesterday.

In Luhansk sector, the enemy conducted two brief attacks at Ukrainian positions in Malynove and Krymske. “The latter incident involved mortars,” added Col. Motuzyanyk.
