Kyiv, February 23, 2015 – The number of pro-Russian militant attacks on the Ukrainian military positions has decreased over the night of February  22-23 . “Russian regulars and its proxies fired only twice from 8pm on 22 February till 6am on 23 February. They fired at Krasnohorivka at around 21:30 with small arms, and shelled Kamyanka with the artillery at 2am,” said Anatoliy Stelmakh, ATO Staff spokesman via Skype, at a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

Militants attempted to storm the Ukrainian positions in Shyrokyne at the Mariupol direction yet again. Russia-backed insurgents tried to attack Ukrainian servicemen at midnight but to no avail. “Military skirmishes lasted for 30 minutes,” added the ATO Staff spokesman.

According to Anatoliy Stelmakh, ceasefire regime was observed after the clash in the Mariupol sector. “Our intelligence reports that the enemy amasses its forces at this direction. We hope they will not violate ceasefire regime again and try to storm our positions today,” noted Anatoliy Stelmakh.
