The ATO spokesperson: Russia-backed militants used 152-mm artillery

Kyiv, June 9, 2015 – Russia-backed militants continue utilizing weaponries of prohibited standards. “Militants used 152-mm artillery in Shyrokyne area that testifies to yet another blatant violation of the Minsk agreements,” – said Major Anton Myronovych, the ATO Staff spokesman at the press-briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

The situation in the ATO zone has been violent. Separatists have fired40 times at the position sof the Ukrainian forces as well as at the residential areas.

Russia-backed militants shelled Pisky, Butovka mine, Opytne and Avdiivka with 120-mm mortars and 122-mm artillery systems. Militants also fired at Opytne and Vodyane from tanks. In the Luhansk and Donetsk areas separatists launched assault at hchastia, Stanytsia Luhanska, Stary Aidar, Krasnohorivka and Vodyane respectively from small arms and grenade launchers.

“Moreover militants shelled residential areas of Vodyane with 122-mm artillery systems,”  – clarified the ATO Staff spokesman.​
