Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses and active hostilities continue in Avdiivka

Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses in combat in the last 24 hours in the ATO zone yesterday. Militants conducted 31, 18 and three attacks in the Mariupol. Donetsk and Luhansk sectors correspondingly, informed the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on ATO related issues Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In the Luhansk sector all attacks took place near Popasna in the afternoon, and militants used no heavy armor.

In the Donetsk sector Russian proxies conducted several attacks at the Sviltodarsk bulge and near Horlivka during the day yesterday, and used mortar launchers for one attacks. Militants also used mortars in Novoselivka Druha and Kamianka.

Active hostilities continue in Avdiivka, where militants were shelling Ukrainian positions at least 12 hours. Insurgents launched over 60 mortar shells at Ukrainian positions, and used snipers and armor too. The situation was restless in Pisky and Opytne yesterday.

Almost all attacks in the Mariupol sector took place in Pavlopil-Shyrokyne area. The situation is the most difficult in Vodiane and Shyrokyne, where militants repeatedly used armored personnel carriers.

Chief Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed information about explosion at Donetsk state-owned chemical products plant. “The incident was caused by negligent treatment of explosives by militants from so-called “11th regiment” of Russian occupational troops who were collecting scrap metal in the territory of the plant,” said the spokesman.
