Kyiv, 19 December 2014 – The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone remains relatively stable. From 18:20 till 00:35 terrorists fired at Ukrainian servicemen with small arms near Mayorsk, Ridkodub, Chornukhyne, Novohryhorivka localities, used a grenade launcher near Shchastya. It was reported by Leonid Matyukhin, ATO HQ spokesman via Skype at a briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “As before only Ukrainian servicemen comply with the “silence” regime. They do not respond to provocations of illegal armed groups,” underlined Leonid Matyukhin.

Russia continues supporting terrorists under the guise of the so-called “humanitarian convoys”. Clashes among the militants continue aiming to redistribute the areas of influence. “No unity as to the further actions and plans on the part of Cossacks and leaders of the so-called “Luhansk people’s republic” is observed. Commander of the training center of the so-called Platonov regiment of the “Cossack guard within the Great Don Cossack Army” Kashparenko accuses militants’ leader Plotnitsky of betrayal and calls to continue active combat to widen the controlled territories,” noted Vladyslav Seleznyov, acting spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the brifieng.
