Kyiv, March 31, 2015. The situation in the ATO zone remained relatively stable last night. The number of ceasefire violations gradually decreases, stated Anatoliy Stelmakh, ATO Staff spokesman, via Skype at a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

Some uncontrolled militant groups keep instigating isolated armed provocations against the Ukrainian troops along the contact line. “Overall, between 6 pm and midnight, 11 cases of ceasefire violations have been recorded. Russia-backed forces fired at the Ukrainian military position close to Sokilnyky, Luhansk region, at 6 pm. Another attack followed at 6:20 pm at the Ukrainian block post in the area of Krymske,” specified the ATO Staff Spokesman.

According to Stelmakh, pro-Russian militants used 120-mm mortars at 7:20 pm and 7:50 pm on the southwestern outskirts of Shyrokyne. “The Ukrainian Armed Forces are strictly complying with the Minsk agreements; they retaliate only in case of a direct threat to the lives and health of our servicemen,” Anatoliy Stelmakh added.
