Kyiv, September 11, 2015. During September 8-10 militants exhibited minimal activity in the ATO area. “They shelled Ukrainian positions in a random manner trying in vain to involve the ATO forces in more active confrontation,” said Lieutenant Colonel Anatoly Stelmakh, the ATO headquarters spokesperson, at Ukraine Crisis Media Center via Skype. According to him, a sabotage and reconnaissance group consisting of 10 persons armed with small arms and supported by snipers tried to bypass the Ukrainian military positions. But it was decisively repulsed and was therefore forced to retreat. In Artemivsk sector the militants fired from small arms at the Ukrainian stronghold in the village of Luhanske. In Luhansk region mercenaries fired at the Ukrainian positions from small arms and grenade launchers in the vicinity of Shchastia. The militants fired at the ATO forces south of Avdiivka using IFV, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms from Spartak direction and also attacked our positions in Novomar’yivka located near Donetsk.

Anatoliy Stelmakh emphasized that September 10 is the first day when it was absolutely quiet in the ATO area within the past months. Militants did not violate the truce and did not use weapons. “This day has not brought any unpleasant surprises yet. From midnight to 6 am on September 11 it was quiet along the entire contact line. Full ceasefire provides more opportunities to restore the destroyed infrastructure, to establish normal transport and logistic communication and to facilitate more active demining works,” added the ATO headquarters spokesperson.
