ATO spokesman: Sniper fires at Ukrainian servicemen in Pisky

Kyiv, March 2, 2015. Russia-backed militants fired at the Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk sector four times over the night on March. Militants fired from small arms at 21:55 and 22:20 on Pisky. “Pro-Russian insurgents shelled the Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka at 22:55 from the artillery. Also, their sniper fired at the Ukrainian soldiers in Pisky at 2:20,” said Anatoliy Stelmakh, ATO Staff spokesman, via Skype at a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

No ceasefire violations were recorded between 9 pm, March 1, and 6 am, March 2, at the Mariupol, Luhansk and Debaltseve directions. “Militants attacked the Ukrainian Armed Forces along the entire contact line 32 times over the last day. They shelled our positions from mortars and the artillery 14 times, as well as fired from small arms and grenade launchers 27 times,” noted the ATO Staff spokesman. Militants tried to storm the Ukrainian positions in Avdiivka and Debaltseve but to no avail.
