The ATO Staff spokesperson: Russian-backed militants shelled the ATO forces from 120-mm mortars, 122-mm artillery and tanks

Kyiv, June 12, 2015 – Russian-backed militants fired 30 times at positions of the ATO forces and peaceful residential areas during the last day using 120-mm mortars, 122-mm artillery and tanks, – said Major Anton Myronovych, the ATO Staff spokesman.

“In the Donetsk area militants shelled Pisky eight times from 120-mm mortars, 122-mm artillery systems, grenade launchers, small arms and from the artillery of combat vehicles. Butovka mine and Opytne also came under fire while enemy was shooting at the residential areas of Avdiivka and Vodyane”, – said ATO Staff spokesman.

Furthermore, in the Luhansk region, militants opened fire at Shchastia, Nyzhnyoteple, Sokilnyky, Novotoshkivske, Krymske and Donetske from grenade launchers, 82-mm mortars and large-caliber machine guns.

“Mayorsk in the Artemivsk sector came under fire from 120-mm mortars at midnight. In the morning enemy fired at the Ukrainian positions near Luhanske from 122-mm artillery. Last night in the area of Mariupol was calm,”- added Major Anton Myronovych.
