Ministry of Defense: Militants conduct 36 aimed attacks at Ukrainian troops

Militants violate the ceasefire for Easter holidays. Yesterday, in the East of Ukraine, Russian proxies conducted 36 aimed attacks at Ukrainian troops. Five Ukrainian servicemen were wounded, reported Ministry of Defense spokesman Colonel Dmytro Hutsulyak at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In Donetsk sector, Russia-backed militants made 27 precision attacks. “The enemy repeatedly conducted provocative fire with grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms at Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Vodyane, Lebedynske, Shyrokyne, Avdiivka, Kamyanka, Talakovka, Pavlopil, Pishevyk, Bohdanovka, Hnutove, and Butovka mine. Near Shyrokyne, militants’ sniper was detected”, said Ministry of Defense spokesman.

In the Luhansk sector, Russian proxies conducted nine aimed attacks at Ukrainian positions. Near Luhanske militants used mortars. After 20:00, they fired 40 mortar rounds of 120 mm and 82 mm calibers. “Militants used grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns in the area of Valuyske, Krymske and Svitlodarsk. Hostile sniper shelled Ukrainian positions nearby Svitlodarsk”, Dmytro Hutsulyak reported.
