The Clergy: Ukraine is Indivisible!

Kyiv, 30 March, 2014 – During a press briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center, singer and activist Ruslana expressed her gratitude to the priests, who have always been on Maydan next to the people, supporting and inspiring the heroes.

The honorary Chairman of the NGO Maydan, Archpriest Father Mykolay, recalling the memory of the Heaven’s Hundred, acknowledged that not only Ukrainians were among the heroes of Maydan, but people of different nationalities belonging to different faiths. “However, all of them have sacrificed the dearest – their lives – for Ukrainian people, their lives and well-being. We all belong to one family, indivisible Ukraine!”, – noted Father Mykolay. He was supported by the other members of different denominations in Ukraine who took part in the press briefing. A funeral-prayer Viche was held at the Independence Square on Sunday involving the clergy of Ukrainian churches. Forty days are passing since the tragic events of February 18-20th, when heroes of the Heaven’s Hundred have died. During the Viche the Clergy held a memorial service.

Svitlana Zalishchuk, Oleg Matsekh and other activists, who took part in the press-briefing, has emphasized the importance of the urgent implementation of social changes and the judicial reform by the parliament and the government, that should change the life of the country, eradicate corruption, accelerate European integration and introduce transparency in decision-making, particularly in the areas of state procurement, availability of the publicly significant information and others.

The activists arriving on Maydan from Kharkiv and Donetsk also spoke to the journalists.
