ATO Staff spokesman: Russia-backed militants attack Ukrainian troops with multiple rocket launchers mortars, artillery and tanks

Kyiv, June 5, 2015. Ukrainian Armed Forces have registered over 40 shelling incidents between 6 p.m. and midnight of June 4, involving intense mortars and artillery use, which have been prohibited by Minsk agreements. “In the Donetsk sector, militants fired from grenade launchers and small arms at Maryinka. They have also shelled Ukrainian military positions by Pisky, Berezove, Pervomayske, Opytne, Bohdanivka, Butovka mine and Novobakhmutovka from artillery and mortars. The enemy fired at Berezove and Vodyane from tanks and shelled Starohnativka from multiple rocket launchers,” said Major Anton Myronovych, ATO Staff spokesman, at the press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

Pro-Russian militants attacked Hranitne in Mariupol sector with the artillery. In the Luhansk sector, militants fired at Novotoshkivske from 120-mm mortars. “The number of ceasefire violations has somewhat decreased after the midnight,” Major Myronevych said.
