ATO Staff spokesman: Russia-backed militants break ceasefire 224 times in the last three days

Kyiv, June 19, 2015. Russia-backed militants fired at the Ukrainian military positions 224 times over the last three days: 58 times on June 16, 76 times on June 17, while 90 armed provocations occurred yesterday. Militants used 120-mm mortars, 152-mm artillery and Grad multiple rocket launchers, which have all been banned by Minsk agreements. Over the last day militant groups launched 55 Grad rockets at the Ukrainian military positions near Novotoshkivske, Luhansk region, said Anton Myronovych, ATO Staff spokesman, at the press briefing via Skype at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

Pro-Russian fighters fired from 152-mm howitzers at Shyroka Balka and at Shyrokyne in the Donetsk region. In the area of Mariupol, they also fired from 120-mm mortars at the areas around Chermalyk. In the Donetsk sector, militants targeted Pisky, Opytne, Krasnohorivka and Maryinka, using small arms and 82-mm mortars.

After midnight militant groups shelled Zolote and Sokilnyky, Luhansk region. Maryinka has been the epicenter of attacks too; militants fired at least 10 times using 120-mm mortars, infantry combat vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.
