Kyiv, October 23, 2015. Five ceasefire violations by militant groups were registered yesterday. “Yesterday the enemy opened fire from small arms and grenade launchers on Western outskirts of Donetsk, in Pisky and Opytne in particular. A militant armed provocation took place in Shyrokyne: occupants were firing towards Ukrainian positions with non-precision fire. Militant groups also used small arms and grenade launchers,” said spokesman of Administration of the President of Ukraine on ATO-related issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. He elaborated that Ukrainian troops did not incur any casualties over the last day, not a single serviceman was wounded.

According to Colonel Lysenko, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission continuously registers militants violating conditions for withdrawal of weaponry. “The Mission’s UAV has confirmed that 16 hostile tanks are still deployed near Sontseve. Thirteen more tanks are located near Myrne – an ‘LPR’-controlled village,” he explained.
The ATO spokesman said that Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) detained a militant who attacked the OSCE mission. Security Service detained a “DPR” sniper nicknamed Kent in Rubizhne. “It was discovered that he joined the militant group in July last year after serving a term in prison. Later the militant underwent special training led by a Russian special services staff member and was taking part in combat actions against the ATO forces. He is now going to Ukrainian prison,” noted Colonel Lysenko. At the same time two militants who have not committed grave crimes are returning back home as part of the SBU program.
