Kyiv, January 13, 2014. Ukrainian troops incurred no casualties over the last day, not a single serviceman was wounded in action. In the Donetsk sector low intensity combat actions continue along the entire contact line. “Adversary sticks to the same tactics and keeps conducting provocative attacks upon Ukrainian frontline positions with the use of small arms and grenade launchers. Most long-lasting militant attacks took place in Mayorsk, Troyitske and Pisky,” said Colonel Andriy Lysenko, spokesman of Presidential Administration on ATO-related issues at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In the Luhansk sector militants fired twice near Krymske and Tryokhizbenka from automatic grenade launchers. No ceasefire violations were registered in the Mariupol sector. “Ukraine’s Security Service stopped activities of the criminal organization that was calling itself ‘LPR trade union’. It was embezzling contributions of workers from the areas controlled by the Ukrainian government. The money in question was used to finance militant groups,” said Colonel Lysenko. Timely discovery of the fraudulent scheme allowed preventing embezzlement of almost UAH 800 thousand. “Ukraine’s Security Service received confirmation that a member of Vostok militant group detained in Dobropillya in December 2015 was involved in a series of terror acts in ATO zone,” added ATO spokesman.

Colonel Lysenko also said that a group of demobilized ATO veterans attended a three-month course in Dnipropetrovsk on programming and web pages development. “New skills will help Ukrainian veterans get back to peaceful life and find a decent job,” noted Colonel Lysenko.
