One Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action over the last day and 12 servicemen were wounded in action. Militants violated ceasefire three times in the Luhansk sector of the ATO zone yesterday. “Hostile attacks took place near Stanytsia Luhanska, Tryokhizbenka and on the outskirts of Popasna,” added the ATO spokesman.

Attacks in the Donetsk sector accounted for about 75 percent of all militant attacks yesterday. “Fifty-four attacks were registered yesterday, each fourth of them was made with the use of heavy weapons that were supposed to be withdrawn from the contact line,” elaborated Colonel Lysenko. Militants intensified their attacks all along the contact line, most intense combat actions took place near Avdiivka where they last incessantly. ATO forces returned fire several times in order to stop aggressive actions by militant group members. “Adversary concentrated its forces in the area of Yasynuvata, Yakovlivka, Mineralne and is firing from there trying to seize the industrial area of Avdiivka and in case of success to further advance the offensive. However these plans fail every day and the frontline remains unchanged. Nevertheless the enemy keeps deploying manpower and equipment to the frontline,” said the ATO spokesman.

The situation remained tense in other parts of Ukrainian defense line – on the Svitlodarsk salient, on the outskirts of Horlivka and of the Donetsk airport. Same as earlier militants are keeping mortars and infantry fighting vehicles on the frontline and are actively using them.

In the Mariupol sector all militant attacks took place in the evening after the sunset. In Maryinka snipers fired several times upon Ukrainian positions. In Novotroyitske militant group members used “Gvozdyka” self-propelled artillery systems twice. In Pavlopil militants made three mortar attacks. “A total of 16 attacks took place in the Mariupol sector over the last day,” said Colonel Lysenko.
