Mustafa Nayyem: “Democratic Alliance” calls on all active citizens to unite and invites reformers to the negotiating table

Kyiv, July 11, 2016. The strategic goal of the reshaped political party Democratic Alliance is its further expansion. This was stated by Mustafa Nayyem, MP, Board member, during a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “We call on all active people in the country to create new party organizations. Consolidation is our strategic goal. But we are talking not only about the regions that are well disposed towards us. We talk about the eastern and central regions,” explained Mustafa Nayyem. He has also called on everyone who shares the Democratic Alliance’s views “to come to the negotiating table” for further cooperation. According to him, here  Mikheil Saakashvili and his team, as well as current MPs are meant.

Mr. Nayyem also said that neither he nor his colleagues in the PPB faction are not going to leave the faction or to vacate their seats. “None of us will leave. This is the resource given to us by people. We very often were forced to leave the sites we won. We always slammed the door because we refused to work with dishonest people. We left our positions, but there was still no improvement. Now we remain to show that it is possible to work differently,” explained the MP.

According to Vasyl Gatsko, co-head of DemAlliance, the party will become a real alternative to the oligarchic projects. In autumn, they will report about their progress. They plan to travel all over the country until then. “Our party will speak for those who want a change of political generation. New faces will make new policy. It is time to fight corruption at the highest level,” stressed Serhiy Leshchenko, MP. Svitlana Zalishchuk, MP, co-head of DemAlliance, informed that anticorruption, defense and security as well as economy and public administration will be priorities of the party.

Viktoriya Ptashnyk, MP, board member, noted that ideologically, the reshaped party will put a person in the forefront. This means that the Democratic Alliance will be involved in introducing the judicial and law enforcement reforms. Andriy Dligach, co-founder of the All-Ukrainian civic platform “New Country”, the board member informed that they plan to involve a wide range of experts in developing the party program.

Zoya Buinutska, co-founder, Board member, said that 66,000 UAH were spent on the Democratic Alliance congress held on July 9. The party plans to make all their spending transparent.
