Militants significantly decreased the number of shooting attacks along the entire frontline yesterday. “The only exception was Krymske, which occupants actively shelled from mortar launchers and grenade launchers during the day. The enemy launched 19 mortar shells at our positions within 30 minutes,” said Col. Motuzyanyk. Militants opened fire from grenade launchers in Novozvanivka around midnight. The attacks were mostly sporadic. In total, three militants’ attacks took place in the Luhansk sector yesterday, and two of them involved use of heavy armor.

Russian proxies did not use any heavy armor in the Donetsk sector. They conducted a number of attacks in Aviivka using heavy machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems. Moreover, militants violated the ceasefire north of Horlivka and at the Svitlodarsk bulge. No heavy armor was used. “In total, five hostile attacks took place in the Donetsk sector yesterday,” added the spokesman.

In the Mariupol sector militants were active only in southernmost area – in Hnutove, Vodiane and Shyrokyne. Sporadic attacks at Ukrainian positions happened there both during the day and at night, and no heavy armor was used. In total, Russian proxies conducted 11 attacks in the Mariupol sector in the last 24 hours.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found in the ATO zone ammunition made by the main defense enterprise of the Russian Federation “Bazalt”. “One week ago, on January, 13, soldiers of the 92th separate mechanized brigade of Ukrainian Armed Forces defeated an attack of a subversive group of self-proclaimed “Donetsk people’s republic”. SBU officers found automatic weapons, a grenade charge and a hand anti-tank grenade launcher abandoned by militants after their retreat while examining the point of firefight,” said Col. Motuzyanyk.
