Ministry of Defense: One Ukrainian serviceman killed and one wounded in action

One Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action yesterday, one more was wounded, reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In Luhansk sector, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire violation six times in the past 24 hours. In the morning militants made a series of attacks involving grenade launchers in Staryi Aidar and Zhovte. In the evening, Russian proxies attacked Stanytsia Luhanska, its outskirts, and Krymske with small arms.

In Donetsk sector, militant groups conducted eight attacks, mostly in the dark time of the day. Hostilities were focused around Troitske, Avdiivka, Opytne and Nevelske. “The tensest situation was recorded in Troitske where the enemy delivered medium-intensity mortar attack and used grenade launchers and mounted weapons of IFVs. Ukrainian troops were compelled to return fire,” said Colonel Lysenko.

In Mariupol sector, Russia-backed militants performed two mortar attacks in Shyrokyne and Pavlopil. Ukrainian troops recorded two provocations in Maryinka and Novotroyitske, rest of the attacks took place in Pavlopil – Shyrokyne frontline. Pro-Russian militants conducted a total of 11 ceasefire violations  in the sector yesterday.
