No Ukrainian serviceman was killed in action in ATO zone yesterday, but five soldiers were wounded in hostile attacks. Most casualties were sustained in Mariupol sector, reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In Donetsk sector, militants continued attacking Ukrainian strongholds in Avdiivka’s industrial area and the adjacent Shakhta Butovka position. “Attacks here continue virtually 24/7, each lasts 20-90 minutes. The enemy refrained from using heavy weapons in this area yesterday, using all available light weapons,” said Col. Lysenko. However, near Pisky the enemy used mortars at sunset firing over 20 rounds. Following this, Russian proxies were attacking ATO troops’ positions for another hour using APC weapons, grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns.  The situation remains restless north of the occupied Horlivka, namely in Zaitseve and Maiorsk. Militants conducted four small arms attacks, 30 to 90 minutes each. Militants violated the ceasefire in Svitlodarsk area once attacking Ukrainian positions near Semyhiria village in the evening. In total, Russian proxies violated the ceasefire 19 times in Donetsk sector yesterday.

In Mariupol sector, the situation remains tense in Maryinka area. “A hostile sniper was active in Maryinka in the morning, and militants were engaging our positions with grenades and small arms in the afternoon. Later they opened mortar fire around 20:00,” said the spokesman. The situation was calmer in Krasnohorivka. Militants violated the ceasefire only once there, using grenade launchers in the afternoon.  In the southern area of the sector militants violated the ceasefire in Starohnativka, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Vodiane, and Shyrokyne, using only light weapons.

In Luhansk sector, militants conducted three brief small arms provocations near Krymske. Moreover, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire in Stanytsia Luhanska once.
