Ministry of Defense: Six ceasefire violations recorded in eastern Ukraine

Russia-backed militants committed six ceasefire violations in the ATO zone yesterday, all during the first part of the day. “The enemy fired six 122-mm artillery rounds, thirty-two 120-mm mortar rounds, and seventeen 82-mm mortar rounds”, reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Maksym Prauta at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In Luhansk sector, Russian proxies attacked Ukrainian positions near Novoluhanske at 14:00. The enemy fired five 82-mm mortar rounds here. Ukrainian troops did not return fire.

In Donetsk sector, Russia-backed militants delivered five attacks. “Starting 07:00 and during one hour, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions in Vodiane. They fired six 122-mm artillery rounds and fifteen 120-mm mortar rounds. Moreover, the militants used grenade launchers”, elaborated Col. Maksym Prauta. Russian proxies attacked Ukrainian troops with 120-mm mortars, having fired six rounds in Pavlopil area, and 11 near Shakhta Butovka.

“The enemy delivered a precision attack in Kamianka area as well. They fired twelve 82-mm mortar rounds. There and near Verkhniotoretske, Russian proxies used also grenade launchers and small arms”, added Col. Prauta. Ukrainian troops used small arms in response to the attack in Verkhniotoretske area.

Unfortunately, one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in Verkhniotoretske area yesterday.
