Ministry of Defense: Two Ukrainian troops wounded yesterday

Over the last day, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire 11 times, nine of these were precision attacks.  Unfortunately, two Ukrainian troops were wounded in action yesterday, reported Ministry of Defense spokesman Colonel Maksym Prauta at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

In Luhansk sector, after 20:00, the militants delivered two attacks against Ukrainian positions near Katerynivka using 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and IFV mounted weapons. Overall, Russian proxies fired four 82-mm mortar rounds.

In Donetsk sector, at night, Russia-backed militants twice attacked Ukrainian positions near Vodiane with small arms. At 15:00 the militants started a series of precision attacks.  “Ukrainian positions near Pavlopil came under the hostile fire three times. Hostile attacks were also recorded in Avdiivka, Vodiane and Mariinka areas,” elaborated Colonel Prauta. Russian proxies actively employed small arms and grenade launchers.

Over the last day, Ukrainian troops returned fire once.
