The head of Kirovograd regional state administration Aleksandr Petyk signed a letter of resignation. “I’ve resigned and the document is in the administration, but President hasn’t signed it yet,” he told journalists at the press conference. He will remain in his seat until Petro Poroshenko makes a decision about his resignation. When he receives conformation, Petyk is planning to join Ukrainian army and help soldiers to raise the martial spirit and help them with logistic support.

A third of the Donbas territory will receive a special status, but it will remain a part of the united Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko Bloc leader, presidential advisor Yuriy Lutsenko said. “The protocol has definitively stated that this is not about a special status of two regions. It has clearly said [the status will be granted] only to those districts of the two regions which are beyond control of the Ukrainian authorities,” Lutsenko said in the Svoboda Slova program aired by the ICTV channel on Monday night. A special status will be granted to certain districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which occupy about a third of the territory of Ukraine’s Donbas, Lutsenko said. Thereby, “a special zone” will be created within the united Ukraine, the politician emphasized.

In the framework of the working visit to Donetsk region, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko visited Illich Steel and Iron Works of Mariupol. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has appointed heads of three regional state administrations. The following decrees were posted on the website of the head of state on Tuesday. In particular, Oleh Honcharuk was appointed head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. Under another decree, Andriy Trotsenko was dismissed from this post. President Petro Poroshenko also reappoints Tkachenko as Cherkasy governor. In addition, Andriy Putilov was appointed head of Kherson Regional State Administration.
