Kyiv, February 13, 2015 – Russian regulars and insurgent forces continues shelling the Ukrainian military positions with the same intensity, said Anatoliy Stelmakh, ATO Staff spokesman, via Skype at a briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “Militants shelled Debaltseve and nearby villages 25 times with Grad multiple rocket launchers and the artillery. The enemy struck the western outskirts of the city with Uragan multiple rocket launchers around 8 pm,” clarified Anatoliy Stelmakh.

At the Luhansk direction, militants concentrated their fire at Shchastia, Toshkivka, Krymske and Stanytsia Luhanska. At the Donetsk direction, insurgents used Grad missile systems to shell Vodyane. Russian and terrorist troops fired a total of 40 times at the Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and at peaceful towns and villages over the last night. “Our military fired only in retaliation of attacks,” added the ATO spokesman.

The number of militants’ UAVs, conducting reconnaissance missions, has increased considerably. 22 UAVs were noted in the last day above Ukrainian positions. The enemy employed UAVs most of all at the Luhansk and Mariupol directions. “Anti-aircraft systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces detected and took down one of these drones. This UAV was flying near Mospyne yesterday at around 12,” noted Lieutenant Colonel Stelmakh.
