Andriy Lysenko: Withdrawal of cannons below 100mm and mortar launchers below 120mm starts in Donetsk region tomorrow

Kyiv, October 17, 2015. The ceasefire held along the entire frontline yesterday. Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no casualties and no troops were wounded. No flights of unmanned aerial vehicles were observed yesterday, said spokesperson of Administration of the President of Ukraine on ATO-related issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press-briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. According to Col. Lysenko, withdrawal of cannons below 100mm and mortar launchers below 120mm will start in Donetsk region tomorrow.

Col. Lysenko said that the Ukrainian law enforcement officers are still seizing illegal weapons and finding new weapons caches in the near-front zone. Seven ball grenades and about 600 assault rifle cartridges were confiscated from a Kostiantynivka local. An anti-tank rocket flame projector, three anti-tank missiles, nine hand grenades, 400g of explosives and over 200 cartridges to Kalashnikov assault rifle were found in Shchastia, Luhansk region. Moreover, law enforcements found seven hand grenades over 1.5 kg of explosives and more than 40 cartridges to automatic weapons in Pervomaiske village, Donetsk region.

Ukraine’s Security Service detained an inhabitant of Donetsk region who was a member of a militant group of the self-proclaimed ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’. According to the spokesperson, the criminal joined militant gang ‘Russian Orthodox Army’ in May last year. He was keeping the watch with weapons and grenades at militant’s checkpoint near Krasnoarmiysk and participated in combat against Ukrainian troops.
Colonel Lysenko also said that the process of delivering humanitarian aid to the occupied territory continues. Recently 17 trucks proceeded through Novotroyitske checkpoint carrying construction materials from the International Red Cross Committee, and 13 trucks with humanitarian aid from a charity organization proceeded through Zaitseve checkpoint.
