Kyiv, 27 June 2014 – “Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense with “Patriot” national union and “Support the army of Ukraine” charity fund set up a Coordination Center and a hotline to provide rapid and timely support to the army. This information and coordination center was created to arrange all the information flows on the needs of the military into one system, define priority directions for the aid, and coordinate activities of all volunteer organizations across Ukraine,” said Anna Kovalenko, commander of the 39th All-female Self-defense Squad (Sotnia) and advisor to the Minister of Defense. “Telephone number 044 206 48 08 works 24/7. Girls from the 39th Sotnia can accept up to 100 phone calls a day. In future we plan to handle up to 1000 phone calls a day,” she added.

“The issues our Center helps to resolve, – continued Anna Sandalova, president of “Support the army of Ukraine” charity fund, – are the provision of the military with body armour, equipment, food and water, as well as provision of psychological, legal and medical support to the military and members of their families”.

“We also plan to publish books that will provide useful legal, medical and other information to the military and members of their families,” commented Anna Mayboroda, Head of the board of “Patriot” national union.
