To enter Crimea, you need to go through the following procedures.<\/p>\n

1. Receive a letter from the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

For this you need a letter on an official letterhead from an editor of your media, signed by editor-in-chief or an authorized person. The letter should contain the following information:<\/p>\n

Name and last name of the journalist<\/p>\n

date of birth<\/p>\n

number of passport, date of issue and expiry<\/p>\n

name of the media and type (print, online, etc)<\/p>\n

date of intended travel to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and purpose of visit (i.e. \u201ccover the culture of the Crimean Tatars\u201d)<\/p>\n

The letter should finish with: \u201cWe would like to ask the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine to approve the entrance to Crimea of our journalist [Name and Last name].<\/p>\n

The journalist must send a scanned letter from editor along with press card and his\/her passport to the email of the Ministry.<\/p>\n

The Ministry will prepare an approval letter.<\/p>\n

It is necessary to collect the permit in person at the Ministry. To get the permit, you will need to present the original passport and original letter from editor.<\/p>\n

Physical address of the Ministry: Kyiv, Grushevskogo street 12\/2 (entrance #6 from Sadova street). Please, inform the Ministry about your visit in advance per email.<\/p>\n

2. Obtain a special permit from the State Migration Service.<\/p>\n

Special permit \u2013 is a document that confirms the right to enter the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.<\/p>\n

You can submit the pack of documents for this permit in two locations:<\/p>\n

Kyiv, Bereznyakivska street 4-A<\/p>\n

One of the regional centers of the Service in Kherson region, addresses available here<\/a><\/p>\n

The pack of documents should consist of the following:<\/p>\n

1) application form, according to the given example, available here<\/a>;<\/p>\n

2) passport (is returned to the owner right after it is presented to the respective official on spot);<\/p>\n

3) document confirming legal basis for the stay in Ukraine (namely, a stamp in passport certifying crossing the border with Ukraine or a visa, if needed). Important to remember that overall stay in Ukraine should not exceed 90 days within half a year;<\/p>\n

4) copy of passport with legally certified translation in Ukrainian (can be done in any translation agency);<\/p>\n

5) an approval letter from the Ministry of Information Policy;<\/p>\n

6) three passport size photos (3,5×4,5cm).<\/p>\n

The procedure can take up to 2 day, if the needed pack of documents is prepared in advance. Please, not that neither Ministry of Information Policy, not the State Migration Service work on weekends and holidays.<\/p>\n

NB! In case of journalist entering Crimea without a respective permit from the side of the Russian Federation, the Security Service of Ukraine can prohibit you from entering the territory of Ukraine.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
