Kyiv, May 15th, 2014 \u2013 Mykola Bondar, a leader of Maidan Self Defense Hundred during the briefing at Ukrainian Crisis Media Center said: \u201cMaidan was a Sich with long established values. Politicians now call to dispel Maidan. But the majority of Self Defense forces are not going to clear the square. We will stay here up to the elections until we see consistent changes and full reset of power. We will do whatever we can to affect the government so that they don\u2019t forget the Maidan values\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another leader Nazar Mukhachov claimed: \u201cWe completely refuse to join battalions, since they still have to be legalized. Most of those people, who were in power before, remain in power and even got promotion. Politicians forgot people\u2019s expectations\u201d. He also added that the unity of the country is the main principle: \u201cPeople in the east also want peace, they want normal life. And they also don\u2019t want to live in a corrupted state\u201d.<\/p>\n

Commenting on reformatting of Self Defense activities, centurion Nazar Mukhachov said: \u201cWe will join the battalions when they are legalized\u201d. Besides, according to Mr. Mukhachov, one of Maidan\u2019s main demands was a change of system, however the majority of politicians, who were in power before, remained, and they neglect people\u2019s voice. He also added that now the country\u2019s unity is the main principle: \u201cWhat unites people in the east and west is striving for peace and, at the same time, refusal to live in a corrupted state\u201d.<\/p>\n
