It emphasizes the importance of verified and reliable information while acknowledging the need to consolidate international efforts to combat disinformation and misinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The COVID-19 pandemic, in particular, has underlined the essential role of free and professional media in disseminating information. And these very media are undermined by disinformation as it sows distrust towards independent journalism.
