{"id":14134,"date":"2014-06-24T11:43:16","date_gmt":"2014-06-24T11:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uacrisis.org\/?p=4819"},"modified":"2014-06-25T16:00:40","modified_gmt":"2014-06-25T14:00:40","slug":"4819-danylo-lubkivsky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uacrisis.org\/en\/4819-danylo-lubkivsky","title":{"rendered":"Press remarks by Danylo Lubkivsky, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Ladies and gentlemen<\/b>,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This week is of utmost importance for Ukraine.<\/li>\n<li><b>The Peace plan of President Poroshenko gives peace a chance<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>It includes three major parts<\/b>: ceasefire, restoration and dialogue.<\/li>\n<li><b>The ceasefire allows Russian terrorists to lay down weapons<\/b> and retreat back home to Russia.<\/li>\n<li><b>All hostages must be released<\/b> \u2013 all Ukrainian military personnel, foreign observers, journalists.<\/li>\n<li>First 10 Ukrainian militaries have been already released.<\/li>\n<li><b>Ukrainian cities will be free from mercenaries<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Mariupol is completely free of terrorists. Luhansk, Donetsk and other will be liberated soon.<\/li>\n<li>After restoring security and territorial integrity of the country, dialogue is possible.<\/li>\n<li><b>European decentralization of powers has no alternatives<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>With assistance of EU Ukraine will restore houses and infrastructure destroyed by terrorists.<\/li>\n<li>People of Donbas will have new workplaces and jobs.<\/li>\n<li>The peace plan has already been supported by<b> the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the UN, the OSCE and the Council of Europe<\/b>.<b><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Yesterday, on 23<sup>rd<\/sup> of June Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin presented President Poroshenko\u2019s peace plan at the meeting of the <b>EU Foreign Ministers Council in Luxembourg<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Today the Minister delivers the plan at the <b>Annual Security Review Conference of the OSCE in Vienna<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>On 25<sup>th<\/sup> of June Minister Klimkin will address the <b>NATO-Ukraine Commission in Brussels<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>On 26<sup>th<\/sup> of June <b>President Petro Poroshenko<\/b> will present his vision at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.<\/li>\n<li><b>The whole world demands Russia to stop disrupting peace<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>This is our clear and strong appeal to Russia<\/b>: stop the war, distance from terrorists, make real steps towards withdrawing mercenaries from Ukraine and securing the border.<\/li>\n<li><b>Ukraine unilaterally implements the peace plan<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Despite the ceasefire, <b>attacks of Russian terrorists did not stop<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Throughout just two recent days, <b>the illegal armed groups made more than thirty attacks<\/b> at Ukrainian army and border guards. We fought theses strikes back.<\/li>\n<li>Last night we had <b>four new attacks<\/b>, including two railway explosions.<\/li>\n<li><b>Terrorists continue to destroy infrastructure, schools, clinics<\/b>. They simply do not care about human lives and peace.<\/li>\n<li>Not only two crucial for Ukraine regions are flooded with heavy artillery and military vehicles from Russia, but also <b>the Kremlin actually<\/b> <b>confirms a new increase<\/b> <b>in concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Russian army near our border<\/b>.<b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Russians have no obstacles preventing terrorists from crossing the border with Ukraine<\/b>.<b> <\/b>But they do not.<b> <\/b><\/li>\n<li>NATO previously released satellite images indicating that <b>Russia indeed had allowed tanks to cross the border<\/b> into the eastern part of Ukraine.<\/li>\n<li><b>Russian helicopters<\/b> violated Ukraine\u2019s airspace on several occasions and even landed with invaders.<\/li>\n<li><b>Russia also increases its occupational forces in Crimea<\/b>. With occupation come curtailing of freedoms. Today we learned that unknown armed men have occupied a <i>medrese<\/i> \u2013 Muslim religious school \u2013 near Simferopol.<\/li>\n<li>If Russia continues to undermine Ukraine\u2019s sovereignty,<b> the West will have no other recourse but to carry on with stronger and more severe pressure against the aggressor &#8211; the political regime of President Putin<\/b>.<b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>No illusions<\/b>. No rest. More pressure on Russia.<b><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Ladies and Gentlemen<\/b>,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This week is also critical in terms of <b>signing the economic clauses of the EU-Ukraine Agreement on June 27<\/b>. That\u2019s a historic event.<\/li>\n<li>We welcome plans of the EU to move forward with signing the Association Agreements with <b>Georgia<\/b> and <b>Moldova<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>No country has a right to veto foreign policy choices of other states.<\/li>\n<li><b>We welcome the decision of the European Commission to launch the second phase of the Visa Liberalization Action Plan with Ukraine<\/b>. It reflects our country\u2019s achievements in meeting legislative and institutional requirements of the visa dialogue.<\/li>\n<li><b>The EU will send a police mission to Ukraine for two years<\/b> which will greatly contribute to reforms of the system of internal affairs and security services in the country.<\/li>\n<li><b>Last week Ukraine received first installment of 500 ml euro under the EU relief program<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine appreciates Europe\u2019s readiness to hold <b>a donor conference in early July<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>So, as you see now <b>we have two agendas<\/b>: the war agenda and the reform agenda.<\/li>\n<li>In a way, they intertwine and complete each other. <b>Both of them depend on support from international community<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine is the \u201cplace to stand\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><b>We will stop Russia<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>We fight not only our own battle, but the battle of all who believe in freedom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I thank you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ladies and gentlemen, This week is of utmost importance for Ukraine.
