{"id":14608,"date":"2014-07-03T12:48:35","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T12:48:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uacrisis.org\/?p=5460"},"modified":"2014-07-10T04:38:34","modified_gmt":"2014-07-10T02:38:34","slug":"5460-remarks-danylo-lubkivsky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uacrisis.org\/en\/5460-remarks-danylo-lubkivsky","title":{"rendered":"Remarks by Danylo Lubkivsky"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ladies and gentlemen<\/b>,<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><b>Ukraine made every step to deescalate<\/b> the situation in the East.<\/li>\n<li><b>Russian terrorists used the unilateral ceasefire<\/b> for regrouping and further aggression.<\/li>\n<li>During the 10-day truce <b>Ukraine continued to lose lives of our military men<\/b> in 108 new terrorist attacks.<\/li>\n<li><b>More than 170 people are still held hostage<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine\u2019s strong desire to establish peace <b>does not mean that we can allow the Russian terrorists to continue bloodshed<\/b>, killings and violence.<\/li>\n<li><b>President Poroshenko ordered to renew the active phase<\/b> of the antiterrorist operation.<\/li>\n<li>As we saw at Zakytne and Dovzhanskyi border control checkpoints, <b>Ukrainian armed forces are capable of reestablishing control over our territory<\/b>. However, unlike Russian federal army in two Chechen wars, our military tries to avoid casualties.<\/li>\n<li><b>Our vision is clear<\/b>: cessation of hostilities by terrorists, release of hostages, restoration and launch of national dialogue.<\/li>\n<li><b>Our stance has gained a unanimous international support<\/b>. There is only one voice that the world does not and cannot trust: this voice comes from the Kremlin. The world demands real actions from Russia.<\/li>\n<li>Yesterday <b>Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia met in Berlin<\/b> in the framework of efforts to implement the peace plan of President Poroshenko.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine announced <b>three major messages<\/b>:<\/li>\n<li><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">First<\/span><\/b>. We demand <b>a sustainable and unconditional bilateral cease-fire<\/b>, which would pave the way for further de-escalation in the region.<\/li>\n<li><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Second<\/span><\/b>. All terrorist groups have <b>to release immediately and unconditionally all hostages<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Third<\/span><\/b>. We urge Russia to exercise their full and direct influence over the terrorists to stop the bloodshed and <b>to ensure efficient border control<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>A commitment to sustainable peace and stability<\/b> in Ukraine has been made.<\/li>\n<li>Foreign Ministers agreed that <b>the Contact Group would resume no later than July 5th<\/b> with the goal of reaching an unconditional and mutually agreed sustainable cease-fire.<\/li>\n<li><b>This cease-fire should be monitored by the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission<\/b> in Ukraine.<\/li>\n<li><b>Russia declared its commitment to grant Ukrainian border guards access to Russian territory<\/b> in order to participate in the control of border crossings at checkpoints Gukovo and Donetsk while the mutually agreed cease-fire is in place.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiators emphasized the need <b>to ensure safety and security of journalists working in the area of violence<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>In case sustainable cease-fire is achieved, <b>we would welcome the OSCE SMM to monitor the cease-fire and disarmament of illegally armed groups and to assess effectiveness of the measures<\/b>, taken to control the border and to stop inflow of the militants and weapons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <b>Ladies and Gentlemen<\/b>,<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><b>The Kremlin continues its aggression by persecuting ordinary Ukrainians<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>We strongly demand that Russia immediately releases <b>Oleh Sentsov<\/b>, Oleksiy Cherniy, Hennadiy Afnasyev and Oleksandr Kolchenko and others who are imprisoned in Moscow under false charges.<\/li>\n<li>We demand <b>unconditional release of Lviv University\u2019s students <\/b>Yuriy Yatsenko and Bohdan Yarichevsky, who are still detained in Kursk.<\/li>\n<li>The fact that there is <b>no adequate response<\/b> to the dozens of our official appeals to the Russian authorities proves that they have been taken hostage by the Kremlin.<\/li>\n<li><b>Freeing hostages is our unchanged demand<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019m glad to know that Anastasia Stanko and Illya Bezkorovainiy from Hromadske TV were released last night in Luhansk region.<\/li>\n<li>Terrorists will be eventually forced to free Pavlo Yurov, Denys Hryshchuk and <b>dozens of other innocent people<\/b> in the East.<\/li>\n<li><b>Ukraine\u2019s Foreign Ministry calls upon all our international partners and the world community to continue globally to pressure the Russian Federation<\/b> so that it releases our citizens.<\/li>\n<li>And lastly, about <b>Crimea<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Deterioration of human rights in Crimea remains in focus of our attention.<\/li>\n<li><b>Lately there appeared troubling new signs of marginalization of the Crimea Tatars<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>After banning memorial for Stalin deportation victims in May, occupational authorities forced celebration of the Crimean Tatar national banner day to the outskirts of Simferopol.<\/li>\n<li>At the same moment, various events dedicated to the Russian culture and history are allowed.<\/li>\n<li><b>We face the challenges of xenophobia, Anti-Ukrainian and Anti-Muslim ideology<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>The UN Human Rights Council witnessed deterioration of freedoms and liberties in the Crimea as a result of Russia\u2019s actions.<\/li>\n<li><b>These practices cannot be acceptable<\/b> and tolerated by anyone in the world.<\/li>\n<li><b>The perpetrators of the Russian military, political and ideological aggression should be stopped<\/b> by our common efforts and clear solidarity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I thank you.<\/p>\n<figure
