The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said yesterday that a large circulation of the Transnistrian newspaper, dated May 2, had already been published in the so-called “Transnistrian Moldavian Republic”, in which residents allegedly addressed the aggressor President Vladimir Putin. The text requests “to involve the armed forces of the Transnistrian region in the actions of the Russian army.” To this end, “mobilization points” are being set up in Russia for the recruitment of volunteers to fight in the \u201cTransnistrian army\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MIDMDU believes that by such actions the Russian leadership can prepare a new springboard for aggression against Ukraine and a basis for the “official” occupation of part of the territory of independent Moldova. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chisinau sees a serious escalation in Transnistria, Moldova’s pro-Russian enclave, as a deliberate provocation.
