Over the last four months of unprecedented Russian aggression, the occupiers have managed to reveal the true face of the Russian army as perpetrators of all possible war cimes. Besides mass killings and torture of civilians, Russians have looted their homes, taking everything from clothes to toilet bowls, stolen farm equipment and tones of Ukrainian grain, looted entreprises and nuclear power plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grain-stealing campaign of the occupiers deserves special attention, as it not only threatens with another Holodomor in the occupied territories of Ukraine but also may cause a global food crisis. Besides systematic thefts of grain and other produce, Russia also steals farm equipment such as sowers and harvesters, disrupting Ukraine from harvesting and thus exporting the crops. Ukraine is one of the world’s most important grain-producing countries, so the impact of the Russian occupiers\u2019 crimes will be substantial and affect food security across the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, Russia not only steals what rightfully belongs to Ukraine: it also tries to sell the stolen to other countries. Russian-flagged cargo ship Zhibek Zholy carried a cargo of Ukrainian grain taken from the Russian-occupied port of Berdyansk with the goal of illegally exporting it to Turkey. Ukraine has requested that Turkey detain and arrest the ship. Such cases will continue to happen, as Russia will try everything possible to profit from the looted crops and other stolen Ukrainian property, so the response from the international community should be immediate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
