Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant cut off from grid, as remaining power line disconnected<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, unit no.6 was disconnected from the grid after a fire broke out following shelling from Russian forces. The unit now only feeds power into the plant.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday, on September 5, 2022, as a result of a fire caused by shelling, the 330 kW power line \u2018Zaporizhzhia thermoelectric power plant \u2013 Ferosplavna\u2019 was disconnected from the grid. That was the last transmission line that connected the power nod \u2018Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant \u2013 Zaporizhzhia thermoelectric power plant\u2019 to the Ukrainian power grid,\u201d Ukraine\u2019s nuclear power company Energoatom said. As a result, unit no. 6 was unloaded and disconnected from the grid. It currently supplies the plant\u2019s own needs, Energoatom said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAny repairs of the power lines are currently impossible as fighting rages around the station,\u201d Ukraine\u2019s Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko said in a statement posted to Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe world is once again on the brink of nuclear disaster. Deoccupying the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and creating a demilitarized zone around it is the only way to nuclear safety,\u201d Halushchenko proceeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past three days, the Russian occupying forces continued intense shelling of the area around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Energoatom said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kherson region, Ukrainian counteroffensive puts fake referendum on hold<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Kherson region, a fake referendum on joining Russia was \u201cpaused\u201d, the Russian state-owned news agency TASS said, quoting Russian-installed official in Kherson region Kyrylo Stremousov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve prepared for the voting. We wanted to hold the referendum in the nearest time, but because of everything that\u2019s happening now (Ukraine\u2019s counteroffensive \u2013 edit.), we\u2019ll pause for now,\u201d Stremousov said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even without a referendum, \u201cKherson is Russian forever,\u201d he added. People will eagerly vote, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian intelligence destroys FSB base, warehouse of \u201cballots\u201d for fake referendum<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Special operations forces of the Ukrainian intelligence destroyed a base of the Russian security service (FSB) and a warehouse of \u201cballots\u201d for a fake referendum in occupied Kamyanets-Dniprovskyi, in Vasylivskyi district of Zaporizhzhia region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of victims was not immediately available. The survivors and wounded are evacuated toward Crimea. The occupying forces imposed a curfew. Military helicopters were spotted above the town. The operation resulted in no civilian casualties, the Ukrainian intelligence said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
