What is going on in the south<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Russian forces in the south of Ukraine had received orders to give up the territories they hold, the Ukrainian Armed Forces said. In the south, the Ukrainian troops pushed the frontline 12 kilometers forward as they recaptured more than 500 square kilometers of land, Major General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Dmytro Marchenko told Suspilne. The Ukrainian troops retook 13 villages in a well-planned operation by the Operational Command \u201cPivden\u201d (South), Marchenko said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Russian command had given orders for the occupying troops in the south of Ukraine to negotiate with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Marchenko added. \u201cThey received orders not to open fire, but to negotiate with the Ukrainian troops and retreat from the occupied territory,\u201d Maj. Gen. Marchenko said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUkraine\u2019s southern counteroffensive is continuing to have significant impacts on Russian morale and military capabilities in southern Ukraine,\u201d the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in a report issued on September 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Satellite imagery of known Russian positions in Kyselivka, 15km northwest of Kherson, shows that all but four Russian vehicles have departed from previous forward positions, consistent with rumors that \u201cDNR\u201d troops have abandoned Kyselivka and moved back towards the Dnipro River, the analysts proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKyselivka is an operationally significant location for Russian forces around Kherson City because it is the last major settlement along both the E58 highway and a railway line between current Ukrainian positions and Chornobaivka, the outermost part [to the north-east] of Kherson City,\u201d the ISW\u2019s report reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian troops retake more than 300 towns and villages in Kharkiv region<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Ukrainian Armed Forces had recaptured 3,800 square kilometers of land in Kharkiv region. They had liberated more than 300 towns and villages, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Hanna Malyar said on television.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe operation to retake Kharkiv region lasted several days, as was planned. Between September 6 and today, [the Ukrainian Armed Forces] liberated 3,800 square kilometers of land, and more than 300 towns and villages. About 150,000 people are free, they lived under occupation and were actually held hostage,\u201d Malyar said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operation will continue until all of Kharkiv region is liberated, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ukrainian troops are recapturing land in the east and south of Ukraine. In some areas, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had reached the border with Russia, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleh Synehubov said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, the Ukrainian troops retook more than 20 villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kharkiv region, power fully restored after missile strikes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Power supply in Kharkiv and the region was fully restored after Russia\u2019s recent attacks on the critical infrastructure. \u201cKharkiv region: power supply in the city and the region was 100 per cent restored,\u201d deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko said on Telegram.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahead of a government meeting, a number of ministries and the Kharkiv regional military administration were tasked to make available UAH 400 million (approx. USD 10.8 million) to fix the damaged sites and rebuild the deoccupied territories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
