The decision of the European Council to grant Ukraine candidate status for EU membership is accompanied by a set of seven conditions that have to be fulfilled in order for the country to be able to start the negotiations on the accession process. Some representatives of the Ukrainian government and media argue that Ukraine can start negotiating the EU membership as early as next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine\u2019s European integration journey started a while ago, and the support of this course has always been rather high among the population. It is now, though, after the full-scale invasion of the country by the Russian aggressor, that the society has consolidated in their pro-European views the most. Over 92% of Ukrainians support Ukraine’s accession to the EU at this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With such an unprecedented will to join the European family and high readiness of both executive and parliamentary branches of Ukrainian power to work on the implementation of the association agreement, Ukraine is confidently moving towards the accession. In fact, about 65% of the association agreement have already been implemented, and Kyiv has every reason to be optimistic about the coming negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
