Ukraine\u2019s Volyn region, the most northwest oblast bordering both Poland and Belarus, was not spared the Russian missile terror in the first weeks of war: the military airport was struck repeatedly in the regional center of Lutsk, then the oil depot. There was also damage and victims in several region\u2019s villages as a result of downed Russian missiles and drones. The constant threat from Russian ally Belarus right at the border of Volyn adds to the security worries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the very first days of the full-scale war, a lot of effort has been invested in securing the state border of the Volyn region with Belarus. All the oblast\u2019s military formations are now ready to give a fitting rebuff to the northern enemy. To meet the humanitarian needs, the military administration of the Volyn region, together with the Volyn regional council, created a coordination center. Humanitarian hubs across the region have been formed that work both for the needs of the front line and of the areas with active hostilities and destroyed infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also plenty of grassroot volunteer initiatives in Volyn who are engaged in helping the Ukrainian army and those who suffer from the Russian war. Among them is the volunteer headquarters of humanitarian aid ANGAR, which used to host music artists and theater plays before the all-out war and has become a center for collecting food, medicine, and defence items for the needs of the Ukrainian army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the consolidated efforts of the local authorities, volunteer communities, and business, the Volyn region is working tirelessly to bring Ukraine\u2019s victory closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
