The Iranian government has been supplying Russia with drones, which have already been actively used against Ukraine since September 13. Ukrainian air defense forces are doing their best to protect Ukrainian infrastructure and people: as of October 19, Ukraine has shot down 223 Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drones since the first day of their use in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, even though the majority of Iranian drones are downed, some of them do reach their targets, which are mostly Ukrainian critical infrastructure objects and residential buildings. Russian attacks with kamikaze drones have killed and injured dozens of Ukrainian civilians since the escalation of attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities in October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By providing weapons to Russia and involving the Iranian military instructors directly in Russian combat operations, Iran becomes complicit in the aggression against Ukraine and Russian war crimes. It should and will bear its share of responsibility for them, no matter if the Iranian government keeps refusing to admit to having supplied the lethal drones to Russia, despite the obvious evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
