Poland has been among the major supporters of Ukraine since the very first days of Russia\u2019s full-scale war, and not just welcomed millions of Ukrainian refugees but also immediately provided vital humanitarian and military aid. The country continues regularly supplying Ukraine with various aid and stays in the top 5 such donors for Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To step up the international pressure on Moscow, Poland\u2019s Senate has unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing Russia as a terrorist regime not long after the most recent escalation of Russian attacks against civilian infrastructure. Poland invests great diplomatic efforts to convince the international community that Russia should be defeated and held to account for its war crimes at the International Criminal Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warsaw has established itself as the linchpin of the Western response to the war, as the Polish government and people realize well that Ukraine\u2019s independence has a strong and very important influence on the security of Poland itself.  There is a clear understanding in Poland that Ukrainians are defending not only their freedom but also the rest of Europe, European and Atlantic values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
