Russian-installed official announces round-the-clock curfew in Kherson, backtracks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine\u2019s Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said he does not rule out that the Russian forces could retreat from Kherson to the left bank of the Dnipro.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 24-hour curfew was imposed in Kherson on Friday, Russian-installed deputy governor of the region Kyrylo Stremousov said. Later, he edited his message posted to Telegram to delete the statement on the round-the-clock curfew. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, Stremousov said \u201cUkrainian military equipment was spotted in some areas\u201d. He said there\u2019s a risk of \u201cterrorist acts and provocations\u201d and urged the residents to leave the city. Stremousov also said that the Russian forces \u201cwill go on an offensive\u201d on the Mykolayiv and Odesa axes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Russian strikes on energy infrastructure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A Russian attack on Friday, November 4, damaged a DTEK Energo energy facility, the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Russian forces continue to conduct systematic terrorist strikes against Ukraine\u2019s civilian and energy infrastructure. Today, a missile attack damaged an energy facility of DTEK Energo,\u201d the statement reads. It was the twelfth attack on a DTEK facility in the past month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were no casualties, according to preliminary information. But the power equipment of the enterprise was significantly damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter the strikes end, the company\u2019s employees will promptly begin to eliminate the consequences and resume work. For safety reasons, only critical employees are present at the facilities. All others work remotely,\u201d DTEK said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

U.S. announces USD 400 million in new military aid for Ukraine, sends 45 tanks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During his visit to Ukraine on Friday, November 4, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced an additional USD 400 million security assistance package, which includes refurbished T-72 tanks, unmanned aerial vehicles, and the refurbishment of 250 HAWK surface to air missiles for eventual transfer to Ukraine.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pentagon will pay for the Czech Republic to upgrade 45 Soviet-era T-72 tanks for use in Ukraine, and the Netherlands will fund the refurbishment of another 45 Czech T-72 tanks, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said. Some of the tanks will be available to Ukraine before the end of December, with additional deliveries to be completed by next year. The package also includes Phoenix Ghost tactical unmanned aerial systems, and 40 armored riverine boats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
