For over 8 months, Russia is waging a war against the whole Western world, and Ukraine is now the European frontier. The war has united Ukrainians and their supporters all over the world, and Germany is one such country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the uncertainty and anxiety of the first days of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the German government, the local authorities, and the civil society cooperated to help Ukrainian refugees who were forced to flee their homes. Local refugee reception organizations started helping Ukrainians not only with food, accommodation, and employment but also with cultural barriers and integration into German society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The German community of Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine combines helping Ukrainian refugees with helping people back in Ukraine, sending food kits, medicines, and medical equipment to those who need them the most. This is also followed by political activities, such as demonstrations and pickets that let Ukrainian voices be heard outside the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
