During their existence, Ukrainian books have suffered numerous prohibitions and restrictions. In the Russian empire, publishing books in Ukrainian was banned as \u201cdangerous\u201d and \u201cunnecessary\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Soviet Union, Ukrainian books were censored and their authors were either repressed or forced to cooperate with the regime. Now, Russian brutal aggression in Ukraine also targets Ukrainian books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, while the occupiers burn them and temples from the shelves on the occupied territories, target libraries with missiles, and kill writers, Ukrainian books continue to live and conquer the world at the international book festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
