After Russia\u2019s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the disadvantages of a strategic partnership with the aggressor state are much more significant than the merits. Despite security cooperation, economic integration, and one of the world\u2019s longest shared borders with Russia, Kazakhstan makes gestures showing it does not support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Russian businesses started using Kazakhstan as a backup plan to avoid Western sanctions, the state provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Following the idea of Ukrainian Points of Invincibility, the idea of Yurts of Invincibility appeared to provide Ukrainians with heat and electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Russian propaganda mentions Kazakhstan as the next to be \u201cdenazified\u201d, Kazakh solidarity with Ukraine grows, as well as the appreciation of Ukraine preserving its identity from the aggressor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
