Despite fears that the large-scale invasion of Russia would cause a reduction in the volumes of art Ukrainians produce, the exact opposite has happened. In particular, Ukrainian musicians reacted instantly by creating a myriad of songs in response to the full-scale war to keep up the combat spirit of their fellow citizens and advocate for the world\u2019s support for Ukraine through such a universal means as music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2022 has become the year when the world has become most invested in Ukrainian music and culture, and Ukrainians themselves decided to cut ties with anything to do with Russia and embrace their own music scene, all this fueling a phenomenal rise in the available audience for the Ukrainian artists. Ukrainian folk rap band Kalush won the Eurovision Song Contest, and this also contributed to the interest increase of listeners abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainians are living through some of the most horrific times in their history, and they cannot keep silent about it. Their music speaks of loss and tragedy but also of bravery, resilience, and will to live despite all hardships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
