Amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, Russian propaganda has tried to erode the well-being of Ukrainians living abroad by spreading detestation towards them. The prolonged war has left the prospect of Ukrainian refugees returning to their home country uncertain, fostering hesitation and apprehension among those who long for stability and security before contemplating their potential return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Russian propagandists are trying to create an image of unpleased and boor Ukrainians that only want to live on European taxes. In this way, the Kremlin is willing to delegitimize and undermine supportive policy in recipient countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By spreading false or misleading information about Ukrainian refugees, Russia can further its political and strategic objectives within Ukraine and on the international stage. Therefore, Ukraine’s situation is closely tied to how Russian propaganda targets and influences perceptions of refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
