Kyiv, 19 December 2014<\/strong> <\/em>\u2013 Militants continue active redeployment of manpower and equipment, reinforce\u00a0their\u00a0firing points. Arrival of new equipment and of the enemy\u2019s forces from Russia was noticed, according to Colonel\u00a0Andriy\u00a0Lysenko, ATO (anti-terrorist operation) spokesman, who spoke at a briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The decision to\u00a0extend the OSCE monitoring mission mandate at the 2 Russian border crossing points \u201cGukovo\u201d and \u201cDonetsk\u201d until 23 March 2015 was adopted yesterday. \u201cDue to the counter-productive position of the Russian side the mission will continue its work in the limited format, as its area of responsibility was not expanded to other Russian border crossing points including to the part of the Ukrainian-Russian border which is currently controlled by illegal armed\u00a0groups,\u201d explained ATO spokesman.<\/p>\n

Near\u00a0town of\u00a0Shchastya\u00a0in\u00a0Luhansk\u00a0region Ukrainian servicemen neutralized a subversive group of\u00a0militants who\u00a0entered the town in an ambulance car. 5 terrorists were killed. Ukrainian servicemen also suffered losses.<\/p>\n

Within the last day in the Donetsk airport area militants fired three times at the ATO forces positions from sniper weapons and small arms. Terrorists were also firing with small arms at the stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near\u00a0Novohryhorivka\u00a0village of\u00a0Volnovakha\u00a0district. In\u00a0Luhansk\u00a0region terrorists fired with mortars at the stronghold near Frunze settlement of\u00a0Slovyanoserbsky\u00a0district. From the side of\u00a0Horlivka\u00a0terrorists fired with small arms at \u201cMayorsk\u201dcheckpoint. \u201cWithin the last day illegal armed groups made 9 armed provocations in total against the ATO forces. Within the last day 5 Ukrainian servicemen were killed, 7 got wounded in the ATO zone,\u201d noted\u00a0Andriy\u00a0Lysenko.<\/p>\n

Yesterday at \u201cKurakhove\u201d and \u201cVynohradne\u201d control points border guards let in the humanitarian cargo of the International Committee of the Red Cross, \u201cPeople in Need\u201d\u00a0fund\u00a0and\u00a0of\u00a0the Eparchy of Ukraine of the Armenian Apostolic Church aimed at assisting\u00a0the population of Donetsk region. The vehicles were filled with food, personal hygiene items, household supplies and construction materials. A total of 12 vehicles were let in, the overall weight of the cargo is over 130 tones.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0situation\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0control\u00a0points\u00a0on\u00a0entry\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0temporary\u00a0occupied\u00a0Crimea\u00a0is\u00a0escalating.\u00a0At the control points \u201cKalanchak\u201d, \u201cChaplynka\u201d and \u201cChongar\u201d\u00a0400 trucks are standing. \u201cThe main reason for such queues is the\u00a0intentions\u00a0of the Russian side to introduce mandatory declaration\u00a0of all goods without exception\u00a0heading from mainland Ukraine starting from 1 January, 2015. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine makes everything possible to decrease waiting time.
