In light of the destruction of hundreds of thousands of monuments of Ukrainian culture by the Russian occupying forces, as well as the death of cultural figures who went to defend the Ukrainian state instead of continuing to be creative, the dark page of Ukrainian culture called the “Executed Renaissance” is remembered. At that time, the Soviet authorities repressed many young cultural figures who made progress in this field and tried to raise the suppressed and colonized culture to the world level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Executed Renaissance” figures created a significant precedent because they showed that the government feared Ukrainian national culture. After all, it could shape the national consciousness of society, and soon after fiery poems, there would be burning barricades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in addition to the physical destruction of Ukrainian artists, the Russian authorities use their own culture exclusively as a tool to spread their aggressive, invasive, propagandistic narratives to the whole world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
