The Vilkhuvatka community in the Kharkiv region came under Russian occupation on the first day of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The occupation lasted almost six and a half months. People understood that they had to look for options for survival. The stores ran out of food in a few days. Local authorities who remained in place tried to help the population in some way. While the occupiers were “arranging” their people and “restoring order” through intimidation, the village council employees contacted local farmers to provide some of the minimum needs of the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
